Restricted Calvert Court Records

Calvert Court Probate Records
Marriage licenses are issued by the Clerk of the Circuit Court for ceremonies in Calvert County. Divorce cases are Circuit Court family cases, and certified divorce decrees come from the Circuit Court that granted the decree. Probate uses a separate route. Calvert Court Record Limits
Online records have limits. Calvert County Circuit Court coverage listed in the official Case Search FAQ begins with civil records from October 6, 1997 and criminal records from April 10, 2000. District Court criminal coverage goes back to late 1991, and District Court civil coverage goes back to 1989 with some historical records unavailable. Minor closed traffic records can roll off public Case Search after 36 months, although a clerk can pull a traffic case record back for a limited period.
District Court weekly dockets are useful, but they exclude some categories such as bail reviews, canceled or postponed cases, unserved affidavit judgment cases, Extreme Risk Protective Order cases, and certain landlord-tenant failure-to-pay-rent matters. Federal cases do not appear in Maryland Case Search. Federal civil, criminal, bankruptcy, and appellate records use District of Maryland, Bankruptcy Court, Fourth Circuit, CM/ECF, and PACER channels rather than Calvert County Court files.

Calvert County Court History
